Go Hiking in Interlaken

Interlaken is the heart of Switzerland and should definitely be included in your itinerary. This town sits between two gorgeous lakes – Thunersee and Brienzersee.

If your kind of vacation is an active way of traveling, you will love hiking in the mountains around Interlaken. There are many hiking trails for all levels of hikers, and the views are breathtaking.

All you have to do is pack your rucksack and choose the hiking tour you prefer. You can choose hikes near Interlaken or nearby towns of Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.

Go on a Boat Cruise in Lucerne

If you are in love with the beautiful lakes of Switzerland, you will enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Lucerne. A tranquil cruise on a steamboat is an amazing way to enjoy the lake and surrounding mountains of Pilatus and Rigi.

So, buy yourself a ticket for the steamboat cruise, and you will be right smack in the middle of the mountains. The cruise will take you on a 3-hour magical ride on Lake Lucerne. 

Enjoy Beautiful Views From Pilatus

There are countless beautiful views in Switzerland. What is so special about this view from Pilatus? The bird’s eye view from 2128 meters high will leave you feeling overwhelmed.

You can do the challenging hike to the top of Pilatus or take a cable car from Kriens near Lucerne. Get off at the Frakmuntegg station and explore this amazing mountain.

Go Skiing at Laax

Laax is the ultimate place for all ski lovers. There is more than 230 km of ski slopes. The Laax Ski Resort is one of the biggest ski resorts in Switzerland. Every winter, the place is swarmed by ski lovers from all over the world.

The ski resort has four snow parks and 63 ski lifts. You don’t just ski down the slopes, because the view is equally stunning while you are skiing.

Go Cross Country Skiing at Sihl Lake in Einsiedeln

Switzerland is known to be a winter paradise and you should not miss cross-country skiing in this winter wonderland.

One of the best places for cross-country skiing is definitely in Einsiedeln. Make your day perfect by skiing along the incredible Sihl Lake with an amazing landscape. 

Taste Fondue in a Mountain Chalet

Imagine, on a cold winter evening in Switzerland, on a mountain top chalet, there’s a chimney near you and you are being served some of the best cheese fondue. Now, that is a perfect and such a beautiful feeling.

While you are in Davos, you can experience cheese fondue in a chalet, which is especially good after a day of snow skiing. These are moments you will remember forever. 

 Have a BBQ at Walensee

The Walensee (lake) is 145 meters deep, and the color of the water is turquoise.

Here’s the perfect plan if you visit Walensee: park your car for free in Unterterzen and hike up the Flumserbergen. After you have spent your time in the mountains, you can find the beach below in Unterterzen, and you can enjoy the day while having a barbeque.

Go Summer Sledding in the Swiss Alps

There are so many activities that the Swiss Alps have to offer. Besides hiking, there are summer sledding runs, adventure parks, sports events, playgrounds for kids, and much more.

For summer sledding, check out the toboggan run beginning at Fräkmüntegg (1415 meters altitude) and descending 1350 meters down.

Take a Swim at the Verzasca Valley

Go to Ticino if you are backpacking or spending just a few days in Switzerland. This is the Italian-speaking part of the country and one of the most beautiful places here.

Endless festivals, swimming, hiking, sunbathing, and palm trees are all you need to make your summer perfect. The must-visit place in Ticino is the Verzasca Valley. Take a swim in the river and have a great time. The color of the river is stunning.
