Our Year-End Videos

One of my hobbies is to make videos! I like to make movies that document our vacations and travels. You’ll see some of those on my country pages under My Travels. In addition, I try each year to create a year-end video showing the highlights of what we did throughout the year. It’s my form of ‘Christmas Holiday card’.

I started many years ago using iMovie on my Mac, but now I use Final Cut Pro X. It’s about $300 and a bit more complex than iMovie, but I like its options and ability to handle the big sized files I insert.

There’s something exciting about deciding how a video should look with the theme, transitions, and special effects. I like to choose a different theme for each of my year-end videos. I also love to choose which music to put with the video. I now use the YouTube Library for their free music, but maybe one day I’ll invest in a music service with more choice.

You can find all my production work (hee hee, still an amateur) on my YouTube Channel (would be great if you subscribed), but below are some of the year-end videos I’ve made. They are a great reminder of the trips we took each year and the fun times we had.
